About MTSC
: Madras Theological Seminary and College formerly known as Madras Bible Seminary was founded in the year 1953 by the Oriental Missionary Society (OMS). The aim of founding MBS-MTSC is to train indigenous people who will become missionaries, pastors, and theologians. The name was change to Madras Theological Seminary & College in the year 1993. Now, MTSC is under the administrative control of the Evangelical Church of India with the mission to produce kingdom workers that are in tune with the needs of the society as a whole. We celebrated our 71st graduation service on 20th April 2024 where 82 students graduated; who are trained to make a difference in the society. We take pride in serving people as Jesus served, thus the motto of the college is ‘Study to Serve’. The sole purpose of education in MTSC is to serve those to whom we are called to minister, as our Lord and Savior served, searched, and saved the lost.

Library: Our Library in MTSC has a collection of over 12,000 books, journals, commentaries and other reading materials. The library is designed to accommodate the needs of the students of the various courses such as: BD, BCS, M.Div, B.Min, B.Th, Dip.Th, M.Th, and D.Min. We have subscribed to journals from various theological colleges in India. Also, the academic journal of MTSC is subscribed by other college in India. We use KOHA as our Library software and the students are provided with computers in the library that can be used to access books, articles and so on according to the need of the hour. Every student can access KOHA with their personal User Id and password, which are provided to them after their enrolment into the various programs offered by MTSC. The residential students, especially Bachelor of Divinity students, manage the library with the help of the Chief Librarian and Asst Librarian.
